Alexia Alexandropoulou is a cultural producer and emerging curator based between Athens and Lisbon. She currently works at HANGAR Artistic Research Centre. She previously worked as Curatorial and Production Assistant at the Biennale matter of Art and the contemporary art initiative tranzit cz. She has also collaborated with the European Cultural Centre for the exhibition ‘’Personal Structures – Identities’’ in the context of the 58th Venice Art Biennale.
She has lived in 4 different cities, (London, Venice, Prague, Lisbon) and worked for several art institutions, such as the EU National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC), Bloomsbury Festival, Victoria and Albert Museum.
As an art professional with a background in social sciences she is always interested in getting involved in initiatives that promote diversity and equality in the cultural sector. She enjoys working on projects from inception, through development to completion and loves seeing this process of making new things happen.
Through her career she had the opportunity to work in multicultural and vibrant environments and she wishes to continue collaborating with people that want to bring both an artistic and social impact in their work. She is always eager to find links between all these different cultures and to build a dialogue among them.
As part of the TASAWAR Curatorial Studios, Alexia is mainly interested in gaining insights into art in context projects and she wants to explore more about the contemporary art scene in North Africa and Tunisia particularly.
